Services
Electrical Safety
Electricity is an invisible and unforgiving hazard that can kill within seconds. Far too many accidents related to electricity seriously injure or kill workers in South Australia each year.
What Should Be Tested?
ANYTHING THAT PLUGS IN, operating on a normal 240 volt power-point eg: all portable equipment such as appliances, office equipment, lights, instruments, motors, machines and tools etc, plus any loose cords (electrical leads) & power boards etc.
Who Needs To Test & Tag?
Electical test and tagging is now compulsory through regulations and applies to EVERY business in Australia. It applies equally to big businesses, medium businesses and small businesses, and even to those who are self-employed.
What is Electrical Testing and Tagging?
Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations and Australian Standards 3760 specify that, all portable electrical appliances, loose electrical leads and power boards be tested at regular intervals, for safety against electrical shock in business premises. This process is now enforced by Work Cover / SafeWork SA to minimize the ever increasing risks of electrical shock to yourself and your staff. The test intervals are usually every 6-12 months.
